The Government of Morocco considers that opening up roads plays a strategic role in social and economic development of rural areas, since they facilitate the access of the rural population to basic social services and foster economic exchanges contributing to reinforce local resources.
The specific objective of the technical assistance was to identify and formulate the programme in support of the European Commission to the policies of opening up of rural areas in the Kingdom of Morocco.
The mission was carried out within two distinct phases: the first aimed at identifying possible scenarios and modalities of implementation of the EC programme on social road infrastructure for isolated population. The second phase aimed at formulating the programme itself and approving technical documents.
